In todays world, we face not only the medical threats associated with conventional warfare, but also the potential use of weapons of mass destruction and terrorism against our military forces and our citizens. Thus, research at UATBD is focusing on finding solutions to both traditional battlefield medical problems and naturally occurring infectious diseases, as well as to health problems associated with non-conventional weapons, including thermobaric blast, biological agents, and radiation. Apex™ Joint Implant

UAT Bio Tech is proud to present the latest in digital joint replacement implants.  The Apex™ Joint Implant raises the bar for quality and durability.  Made from a special ceramic material which is stronger than steel, this implant is virtually indestructible.  The Apex™ features a highly polished head which never wears down over time from grinding.  This means that implants constructed from stainless steel, which must be replaced every 3 to 5 years, the Apex™ NEVER needs replacing.

ClearView ™ Wrist Fixator

Through a strategic partnership with GE, Umbra Applied Technologies created the world’s first medical grade Lexan based wrist fixator. This light weight radiolucent bone fixator permits the passage of radiant energy, such as x–rays, with little attenuation, in which the representative areas would typically appear dark on the exposed film. The “dark areas” obstruct the physician’s view of the fractured bone resulting in the need for more x–rays from different angles.
